So you want to be a Engineer?

Okay I would like to say welcome to any aspiring Engineers out there. Its a fun Profession to level, it allows you to have many more tricks then your class would normally have by itself. It allows you to mimic certain abilities from different classes. Like opening locks like a rogue, bubbling like a Paladin, slow fall like a mage and even trap like a hunter. What these gizmos and gadgets do is basically give you that little extra edge in a fight being either a pvp fight or pve fight. Engineering is broken into 2 types of specializations, Gnomish Engineering and Goblin Engineering.

First on to Gnomish engineering, which basically allows you to alter the world around you, through things like Gnomish Mind Control Cap, World Enlarger or Gnomish Harm Prevention Belt. Basically from what I can see is that Gnomish Engineering is more about crowd control and gizmos that have cool effects. Which is a great benefit to class that are lacking in forms of crowd control.

Now onto Goblin engineering, which is more about Blow crap up. I mean it the majority of stuff that you learn from Goblin Engineering is all about making the biggest explosion or using explossions to power other things. A couple of examples are Goblin Bomb Dispenser, The Big One (a bomb) and Goblin Rocket Helmet (which rockets you towards an enemy stunning both you and it. There is one thing that Goblin does have over Gnomish engineering is the Goblin Jumper Cables and there superior version Goblin Jumper Cables XL. These items are great in that any Engineer can us but only Goblin can make, so it is not really a deal breaker if you decide to go Gnomish.

A warning for both Gnomsih and Goblin engineering is that they both have a chance to have side effects associated with them. Also do not expect to make a whole lot of money with this Profession until you are leveled completely maxed or unless you have recipe some one is looking for. Most of the stuff you can build is only usable by other engineers. If you do want to make money the guns, scopes and bullets you can make are were you are going to. Although on my server the Mats usually cost more then I could resell finished product for. Although if you farm all the mats that becomes a non issue, Im just lazy and only farm when I really need to.
